Nurse Tank Inspection "CT" Course
The Asmark Institute was approached and asked to provide a course specifically for Cargo Tank (CT) personnel who are responsible for inspecting and testing nurse tanks used for anhydrous ammonia.
This course provides an in-depth learning experience on the procedures required to properly inspect and test nurse tanks used for anhydrous ammonia. Geared to the needs of Cargo Tank or "CT" inspectors, this unique course helps to ensure participants understand their duties associated with the pressure (P), thickness (T) and visual (V) tests and inspections. This one-day course consists of several “hands-on” exercises and demonstrations that will serve to provide initial and refresher training.
The goal of this course is to foster a strong understanding of the regulatory requirements and procedures needed to properly prepare participants for the responsibility of performing "CT" duties.

- Overview of the regulations
- ASME Data Plates
- Inspector Qualifications
- External Visual Inspection
- Pressure & Leakage Tests
- Thickness Test
- Identifying Unsafe Tank Conditions
- Hands-on Exercises & Demonstrations
- Participants will receive a wallet card and certificate for successfully completing the course. Valid for three years.
- Course Manual will be provided.
All NTIP training will be performed at the Agricenter Training Complex in Bloomington, IL. The dates of training can be found by using this calendar. All classes are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily.
Once confirmed, participants will be sent more information including a location map, potential lodging options, lunch arrangements, etc. Each participant will receive a confirmation packet with all the information needed to prepare for this course.
The cost for this course will be $165.00 per participant. This includes one day of interactive training, exercises, course manual, handouts and wallet card with certificate upon completion.
Please use this calendar to enroll in the course of your choice. Classes will be limited to 21 participants and reservations will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Cancellations are non-refundable, but eligible substitutions are welcome. The Asmark Institute reserves the right to cancel any course due to insufficient enrollment.
Prior to registering for this training, participants should contact their insurance agents with regards to the liability and any special insurance coverage that may be required if they choose to certify their own staff as cargo tank inspectors.
