Overview

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) establishes rules of safety governing the design, fabrication and inspection of boilers and pressure vessels. Owners are responsible for obtaining required inspections and maintaining their boilers in safe working condition. The annual inspection for boilers must meet the requirements of the national board inspection code and the proper documentation must be available for inspection if requested by the inspector.
