Overview

Every pesticide product must be labeled clearly and prominently with the following:

  1. The name, brand or trademark under which the product is sold;
  2. The name and address of the producer, registrant or person for whom produced;
  3. The net contents;
  4. The product registration number;
  5. The producing establishment number;
  6. An ingredient statement;
  7. Hazard and precautionary statements for human, domestic animal hazards and environmental hazards;
  8. The directions for use; and
  9. The use classifications.

 

All labeling must be clearly legible to a person with normal vision and must be likely to be read and understood by an ordinary individual. Labels must be in English, but a second language may be added as long as the English label is present.

All required label text must:

  1. Be set in 6-point or larger type;
  2. Appear on a clear contrasting background; and
  3. Not be obscured or crowded.
